Within accounting there are a range of different tax return deadlines in the UK, and if they are not met there can be some severe consequences from HMRC for the businesses that miss them.

Submit self-assessment tax return (paper version)

Make first payment on account
January 31st
Make payment on capital gains tax

Last date for submitting a self-assessment tax return

Make payments for PAYE and National Insurance for the previous month's salary

Pay corporation tax if required to do so
9 months and 1 day after the end of the corporation tax accounting period
File a company tax return
12 months after the end of the corporation tax accounting period
Submit VAT return
1 month and 7 days after the end of the VAT quarter
Make VAT payments
1 month and 7 days after the end of the VAT quarter
